The treatment received under this scheme is cashless.

The beneficiaries will receive a sum insured of up to Rs.150,000 that can be used for availing treatment from the network of government hospitals as well as private players. In 2012, the scheme covered only 8 districts, and later on, in the year 2013, the benefits were extended up to 28 districts of Maharashtra. The sum insured can be used up by either an individual or the entire family in one year. Any costs incurred beyond the sum insured need to be borne by the beneficiary from their pockets.
